What’s new for Peoples Festival in 2024?

with the Reggae Moon Festival – Tribute to Bob Marley

Savannah, Georgia has been calling to us since 2013, when family members first moved here. They saw the gap
in reggae music and started to envision The Peoples Festival Savannah!
Our good friend and long -volunteer, Hilton has been relentless in spreading the word and looking for
solid connections who might want to help cultivate a “One Love Vibration” in our "hostess city."
In Spring 2023, efforts began to take root. We met a few people and shared our Delaware history, and our desire to
bring the Peoples Festival Tribute to Bob Marley vibration to this area. They said yes!

We came together like a family right away, after just a few hours of sharing, we decided to set the date of May 11,
2024 for our first event — for on this day in 1981, Bob Marley made his transition and rode the train to Zion. We
thought a Celebration of Life would be a great way to start! We began to set the foundation.

A conversation we were having in January led to suggestion that it would be cool to host a Bob Marley Birthday Bash
on the beach In February? Within a couple weeks we had the location and started to plan this event at North Beach
Bar and Grill on Tybee Island,

The team really pulled together and on February 10 th we hosted The Bob Marley Birthday Bash on the beach at Tybee
Island! Over 500 people gathered from near and far for an unforgettable celebration — the likes that had not been
seen in recent memory! So many diverse backgrounds, religions, races, and economic backgrounds — from babies
to grandparents — everyone came to celebrate Bob! Drumming, dancing, bands and deejays brought the One Love
Vibration! What a powerful springboard to the Peoples Festivals Reggae Moon Festival in May!

The Peoples Festival has a mission to foster and promote cultural diversity through music, art and educational
programs that inspire and promote Peace, Unity, One Love, Equal Rights and Justice for all as we were inspired to
do by our beloved friend and brother, The Honorable Robert Nesta Marley, O.M.
Bringing the Rastaman, Tybee Island (Savannah, GA and the surrounding areas is part of this mission!
